My past personal and professional experience makes me a quality candidate for this position. I have worked for the Chicago Board of Education for over 20 years. My greatest strength is the ability to form meaningful relationships with students. My years working with children from various background and a variety of special needs, has allowed me to learn and practice different strategies. Providing positive attention in order to gain their confidence and build their self-esteem, to learning how to clarify social rules using tact. Patience and the ability to stay calm during frustrating and difficult moments has always been a strong point of mine. I am gifted in making strong connection with students, I feel I can relate with students easily and feel very comfortable listening to them and sharing my own experience. I am relatable, understanding, genuine, and open minded. • Working with students with Attention Deficit Disorder. • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. • Worked closely with students who are cognitively impulsive or have had psychosocial stressors, have been victims of child abuse, or have had environmental disruptions. • Position requires close attention to each student to create a behavior log folder. My years working with the Board of Education have allowed me to learn and practice different strategies for working with special needs children. From providing positive attention in order to gain their confidence and build their self-esteem, to learning how to clarify social rules using tact. I have learned how to introduce new material to the children so they would be excited and motivated to ask questions and start the learning process.
