Education
I graduated from Green Run High School in 2013 with an advanced diploma, and prior to that, went to the Global Studies and World Languages Academy at Tallwood High School. Currently enrolled at Tidewater Community College for a degree in Social Sciences. My ultimate goal is to transfer to film school for Screenwriting. I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and that is likely to go up.
Experience
My test scores are generally high, especially my SAT and AP test scores in the areas I'd like to tutor. For the SAT, I scored a 720 in the Critical Reading section, putting me in the 97th percentile nationally. For writing, I scored a 580, putting me in the 78th percentile. I also performed admirably in several AP classes, earning the AP Scholar with Honor award. In AP English Literature and Composition (12th grade), I earned a 5 on the test. I also earned a 3 on the test in United States Government and Politics, and a 4 in both Psychology and United States History. I have done well in all the classes I have interest in tutoring. I am member of the International Thespian Society and the Latin Honor Society. I won an award for directing the best one act play at my school in my senior year. I have volunteered for the Virginia Beach public library system many times. I also have experience in child care, as I often babysit my two year old little brother. I want to be a tutor because there were times I had trouble in high school, and finding a good tutor was difficult. I managed to work through my problems myself, but if I had had a good tutor to provide dedicated, one-on-one help for me, I could have improved much faster. I know how difficult school can sometimes be, I've persevered through those difficulties myself, and if I can help others to do the same, I feel I will have done my part.
