Education

Currently a 6th year PhD student in Classics at the University of Chicago. Received Masters in Classics from the University of Chicago in 2011 (3.7 GPA). Received Bachelors in Classics from the University of Michigan in 2008 (3.98 overall GPA/4.0 GPA in major).

Experience

I am a lifelong lover of all things Classics with almost 12 years of experience with the Latin language. As a senior in college I received the award for the most outstanding student in my department at the University of Michigan, which has one of the most prestigious departments in the field of Classics. I also received the Sidney Fine Teaching Award for my potential as a teacher and scholar. Since completing my graduate coursework and a series of rigorous language examinations at the University of Chicago, I have served as an instructor and course assistant for introductory and intermediate college level Latin and Greek courses since 2010. I have also participated in the intensive Latin and Greek summer program at the University of Chicago as both a course assistant and instructor. I particularly enjoy teaching because of the opportunity to connect with students and share my enthusiasm for ancient languages and history. I have been told that my love for Latin is infectious, and I have always done my best to make time to tutor my former students as they continued their Latin adventures. I find tutoring particularly rewarding because of the opportunity it affords to connect and to tailor my instruction to the student's unique needs, interests, and learning style.
