Math Tutor (2006-2007) Spanish Tutor (2007-2008) SAT Score - 1920 I've always loved tutoring, primarily because I feel it is important for young minds to have a prominent mentor figure in their lives. To know someone who has knowledge to pass on to you and who can enrich your life through friendship as well is something a student takes away for the rest of his or her life. While this mantra may pertain more thoroughly to someone pursuing a degree in teaching, tutoring fits my personal schedule better because I do look to expand my art practice in my free time. Tutoring allows me to give and gain something while also giving me flexibility to pursue careers in writing and film. Along with tutoring I have participated in art shows and even spent a summer in a kitchen at a French restaurant. While these don't pertain to regular academia, I feel it broadens my perspective and makes me feel well-rounded, but we'll see if that last bit is actually paying off.
