I want to be a tutor because I believe that just because a student is struggling does not mean that he is stupid or incapable of learning. People learn in different ways and giving a student the extra attention he needs to feel confident and to succeed makes all the difference. Worked as a teachers assistant in high school, scored over 1900 on SAT, took AP English and Comp, AP English Lit and Comp, AP US History, Calculus AB, studied French for 8 years, AP US Government (as well as many other honors classes), EIC of high school newspaper, Indiana MLK essay contest winner, graduated high school with academic honors, worked as a staff writer and columnist for the Indiana Daily Student Newspaper at Indiana University, currently maintaining a 3.8 out of 4.0 in college.
