Collin L.
Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Education
I am a freshman biochemistry major at the University of Illinois at Chicago, currently have a 3.33 GPA, and am also a member of the UIC honors college.
Experience
I tutored frequently in high school through my schools NHS chapter. I got a 29 on my ACT, and 4s on the AP US and AP Euro tests. I want to be a tutor because I really enjoyed tutoring in high school and that sense of satisfaction when my tutees did well. I miss that experience. I went through the honors sequence for all my high school classes (biology, chemistry, physics, english, history, etc. . .), I've also taken many AP courses (AP Calculus AB, AP english 1 & 2, AP music theory, AP Euro, and AP US), and I have taken college level chemistry, math, and bio classes. I am an Illinois State Scholar, Prarie State Achiever, member of the UIC Honors College, and I graduated in the top 10% of my graduating high school class

Hobbies
I am very involved in music; while in high school, I was in marching band, jazz band, pit orchestra, wind symphony, and pep band. I can play 3 instruments, and try to write music daily. I also enjoy volunteer work: I volunteered at different Chicago area fundraising events through the UIC Society of Future Physicians, taught a health seminar at Clemente High School through the UIC Health Activism Committee, and this winter I will be going to Panama as part of the UIC chapter of the Global Health Brigade. In addition to this, I also enjoy running and weight lifting (though I'll admit college has cut into my time for the latter haha).
