Experience
I have been a volunteer tutor at Corona Fundamental Intermediate School for Tracie Romans, an 8th grade Language Arts teacher. I tutored students and helped their writing skills as well as preparing for State tests. My cumulative SAT score was about 1600 and my ACT score was 21. My undergraduate degree was in English Education where I took numerous classes dealing with students, the classroom environment, and understanding techniques to help students with English and Literature. Furthermore, I took linguistics classes that taught me to better instruct students who had English as a second language (ESL students). Among the classes I took were Adolescent Literature, English Grammar, English Composition, as well as classes that required field work involving hands on training with high school students. I truly am passionate about teaching. As of now, I am working towards my masters degree at Columbia College of Chicago and will be involved in their GSI program in the Spring. I enjoy creating bonds with students, being a positive role model for them, and maintain a professional yet approachable demeanor.
