Experience
I have some previous experience as a tutor. As a senior at Marist High School, I was a peer leader. My job as a peer leader was to tutor all of the kids in a sophomore English class. I was assigned to the class for the entire year and even taught some lessons. I want to be a tutor because I really enjoy helping children learn and enjoy helping people in general. I developed a great passion for helping children learn after my experience as a peer leader and is the reason I am becoming a teacher. I have obviously taken many classes relevant to tutoring as an education major. I have also taken a number of English and History classes as well including American Literature to 1865, American Literature after 1865, Shakespeare, World Literature, English Literature before 1700, English Literature after 1700, Greek Drama, Study of Literature, Rhetoric and Writing, American History to 1865, Modern European History, and U.S. Government.
