Education

Associate Degree in Mathematics from Truman College - May 2002 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign - May 2006

Experience

My Name is Tom O. and I was the Valedictorian of the Truman College 2002 Class with a 4.0 GPA. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in May of 2006 with a GPA of 3.8. I went on to be a mechanical engineer with Caterpillar for three years and I have been tutoring at Wright College (One of the City Colleges of Chicago)for over a year and a half. Although I tutor different levels of different courses, I like to approach tutoring from a student's perspective. In this view, I am usually able to reach the student more effectively and patiently without diminishing the efforts of instructors that have to go through the material at a faster pace. I tutor different levels of mathematics from intermediate algebra to third year calculus (including differential equations and linear algebra). I also tutor different levels of Physics (both calculus and non-calculus based), general inorganic chemistry, and music.

Subject Expertise

Algebra 1, Calculus 1, Differential Equations, Geometry, Math, Pre-Calculus, SAT Math, Trigonometry, Chemistry, Physics, Music, Probability, Linear Algebra
