Miami University - Bachelors, Dietetics , Rush Medical College - Current Grad Student, Medicine

I come from a family of educators. My parents retired from teaching, but education was always important in my home. This was not just academically. My parents encouraged us to indulge a curiosity about the world wherever we saw fit. I went to Miami University to earn my undergraduate science degree, and then went on to Rush University to study medicine. I've had the opportunity to tutor students in a number of advanced subjects, and I find that teaching is a great way to ensure my own mastery of a subject. I believe every student is different, so I work with students to identify their strengths and learning styles so that I can focus on those. Often students struggle because they don't understand the way material is presented in the classroom, but tutoring can help students overcome these obstacles to understand concepts and experience success. I enjoy tutoring subjects such as biology, chemistry, geometry, anatomy and physiology, middle school math, Spanish, pre-algebra, microbiology, life sciences, physics, earth science, astronomy, organic chemistry, and test preparation for exams like the MCAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, PSAT, and others. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, playing soccer, listening to music, playing music, and spending time with my daughter.
