University of California-Davis - Bachelors, Pharmaceutical Chemistry
I went to the University of California - Davis, earning my pharmaceutical chemistry undergraduate degree. I also worked as a researcher in chemistry as a student. After graduation, I accepted a position at the university in the chemistry department, and I'm currently working as a lab assistant. I have quite a bit of experience as a teacher and tutor, starting 13 years ago when I was a high school sophomore. As a college student, I was a teaching assistant for an astronomy course, helping over 75 students each quarter individually and in groups. Many students don't like science and math because they think they are difficult or boring. I often find that this is because students and instructors who did not help them focus on fundamental concepts in the classroom or help them appreciate the importance of the subjects. When I work with students, I help them understand the core concepts of each subject and explain how they are important and used in the real world. This helps students become more interested and engaged, and it motivates them to achieve success. I can tutor elementary school math, physics, chemistry, algebra one and two, astronomy, pre-algebra, astrophysics, and associated math and science topics. In my free time, I like to cook, swim, hike, and run.
