Private tutor in Chicago, IL
University of Illinois at Chicago - Bachelors, Computer Science
I'm a tutor who is based out of Chicago, Illinois, where I enjoy completing puzzles, knitting, and bicycling, when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. As a tutor, I'm able to provide my students with lessons in a variety of subject areas. Some of what I've taught in the past has been computer science, algebra, statistics, and standardized test preparation. I'm a member of the LGBTQ community and I'm particularly passionate about working with and teaching students who also identify as LGBTQ. I have worked as a tutor with students of ages 4 to 40 in a variety of subject areas. I approach my tutoring sessions in an individualized manner. I take the needs of the student I'm working with into account when developing a lesson plan to combat their areas of weakness. I love the feeling I get when a student I'm working with finally has a breakthrough moment in a subject they've been struggling with for awhile. I believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance. As a tutor, I seek to provide the guidance my students need to reach their full academic potential.
