Experience
I earned my undergraduate degrees in German and theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As part of my studies, I lived in Germany for four years. While I was living in Germany I received my certification for teaching English to speakers of other languages which allowed me to teach English to elementary aged students and business English to adults in Germany. I also received certification from the Goethe Institute for German Level C1. I have been teaching English and working with ESL students in the Chicago area for more than five years. I currently offer tutoring services for students who are studying German 1-4, reading, writing, essay editing, phonics, English grammar and syntax, AP German language and culture, IB theatre HL and SL, public speaking, English, languages, art, and conversational German. I further help students who are preparing for upcoming exams such as the SAT or ACT. Learning and teaching language is one of my passions. I love exposing students to a new language and culture and working with them to expand their linguistic abilities. I take the time to get to know each of my students and customize their tutoring sessions to reflect their academic goals and individual learning needs.
