Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Wheaton College (Illinois) - Bachelors, Cultural Anthropology
I've had the experience of teaching English in settings where it is not the native language. I initially grew up in the Czech Republic, although I've lived all over the world, including China and Ghana. As I began working with students who didn't know the language, I found new ways to help them succeed in their studies. I take the time to get to know each unique learning style, and see how I can help my students improve and meet their goals. I attended Wheaton College. There, I earned my bachelor's in Anthropology. I work with students in subjects that range from Algebra 1-3/4, Middle School Math, Social Studies, Pre-Calculus, World History, American History, European History, Math, English, World Religions, and learning languages through ESL/ELL and TOEFL. I also help students in Mandarin Chinese 1-2, Spanish 1-4, and various AP classes related to History and Math. I also help students as they get ready to take the SAT. When I'm not working, I love to ride my bike, travel to different places, and immerse myself in foreign languages. I get outside and go hiking, love to camp, and love to visit thrift stores and garage sales to get new finds.
