Experience
LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS I am a native speaker of Spanish, I was born and raised in Mexico City. I was educated in the French Lyceum in Mexico City from kindergarden through high school and completed my Baccalaureate there. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS I have a graduate-level knowledge of Modern European philosophy; This has been my main area of study and endeavor since the start of my university days. I am currently completing my Master's degree at the University of Chicago, where I am writing my thesis on Kant and Heidegger under direction of Robert Pippin, Chair of the Committee on Social Thought and Professor of Philosophy. I plan to apply for doctoral (philosophy and interdisciplinary) programs in the coming Fall. In addition to thematic and methodological preparation, my MA education has given me a rigorous training in writing and research skills, as well as in preparing course materials/presentations. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Before I begin a doctoral program, I looking to develop my teaching skills and create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for my students. I am especially qualified to tutor in French, Spanish and English as second languages, as I have been trilingual my entire life and understand how to relate one language to another. I master all three languages orally, grammatically and in literary form. I am also prepared to tutor in humanistic fields, particularly in philosophy and literature.
