Experience
I graduated from Xavier University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Spanish. I then attended graduate school at Loyola University-Chicago, where I studied Philosophy and Counseling. Over the past ten years, I've made many mission trips to Latin America to work and teach in schools. I spent two years with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, where I assisted with business development and played semi-pro soccer. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Counseling, and now work at a Chicago nonprofit organization where I have a caseload of 25 people who struggle with serious mental health issues. I have experience tutoring both high school age and adult students. I'm qualified to teach reading, writing, grammar/mechanics, English, and Spanish 1 - 4. I can tutor ESL to non-native English speakers, and I'd love the opportunity to help you or your student with test prep for the GED. I believe each student can achieve their educational goals and can achieve their potential. I structure my tutoring around each student's strengths and challenges, and put together lesson plans that keep them active and invested in their success. When I have free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching/playing sports.
