Experience
My name is Rachel, and I live in Chicago. I have a bachelor's degree in Economics from Yale University, where I also worked as an editor for the Yale Daily News. I'm currently a student at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. I have an interest and aptitude in a variety of subjects, including English, math (algebra, pre-calculus, statistics, AP statistics, and trigonometry), history, political science, and economics. My experience editing a daily newspaper sharpened my editing skills, so I may be just who you need to help you edit your college essays and applications. My tutoring philosophy is that anyone can master a subject if they keep an open, positive mindset, and if they have a tutor with a flexible teaching style that is specific to each student. I especially enjoy test prep, and have taken the SAT, ACT, GMAT, and GRE with high scores, and I'm qualified to tutor all sections of those tests. I tutored a student in GMAT prep and in the course of a month, he raised his score from 680 to 760! I'm available to tutor during the day, in the evening, and also on weekends. When I'm not in school, studying, or tutoring, I spend much of my free time practicing the violin and piano.
