I hold a bachelor's degree in French from Willamette University. During my time in college, I created and taught a French course for middle school students. In this course, I employed games, cooking, music, classroom projects, and homework to help students learn vocabulary and verb conjugations.In addition, I also tutored my peers in French, including syntax and pronunciation and grammar. In an effort to further help my students, I taught them methods to use for time management and studying.Along with French, I tutor English, essay writing and editing, and study skills and organization. I believe that organized writing in particular is absolutely necessary to succeed, not only in school, but in life. Since writing is used in almost everything we do, it is important to be clear, logical, and coherent. I try to instill an interest and enjoyment in it so that the students can reach their full potential.I hope that my enthusiasm for the subjects I teach is infectious and that I help students realize that working hard and being dedicated are keys to success. I also emphasize to my students that education is important, and they have the ability to go as far as they want with it. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy cooking, reading, live music, comedy, and exercise.
