Experience
My tutoring philosophy involves constructivist teaching. I firmly believe that students who are actively involved in their own education process will learn more and faster. My job as a tutor is to act as their guide to learning and encourage them to develop curiosity about their academic subjects and their ongoing education. I have experience tutoring all the basic subjects, like math and reading, to elementary and middle school students. I have also tutored high school history, as history is my favorite subject. Not only do I have an undergraduate degree in history from Loyola, I also love reading about this subject and learning more about all kinds of history. It is like learning a new and fascinating story with every historical event. I hope my students learn to see history the same way as I do. I also speak fluent Arabic, and I am glad to help tutor students in that language. In addition to grade-school children, I have also taught English as a second language to adults. I have experience tutoring in small groups and individuals. Outside of my job as a tutor, I love to swim and play touch football, as well as read and play board games.
