ExperienceI hold a B.A with Honors from Dartmouth College, where I majored in Government, and an M.E. from the University of Michigan. For the past three years, I have taught at a high-performing Detroit charter school. I teach International Baccalaureate Writing and Reading to sixth through eighth graders. During the past two summers, I have taught American History to high school juniors in Newark and English to freshmen in Chicago. I am fortunate in that I love every aspect of the educational process. My tutoring experience includes working with students in AP Government, AP U.S. History, and preparation for the English section of the ACT. I am also available to work with students preparing for other standardized tests, including the PSAT and ISEE, and tutor students in a variety of International Baccalaureate subjects. When working one-on-one with a student, I employ a range of reading strategies, including the clarify-predict-question-summarize process. When I'm not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy movies, practicing yoga, reading, and writing.
HobbiesI enjoy reading, writing, watching movies, and doing yoga.
