I specialize in tutoring English, both the written and reading components. Over the past twelve years, I have been an instructor at the University of Wisconsin, teaching English Composition and Literature. My time in the classroom was extremely rewarding. However, I feel that working one-on-one with students is my forte. Now that I have moved to Chicago, I aspire to do just that. I obtained a bachelor's degree at Ohio State University. After that, I received my Master of Arts in English at the same institution. Over the course of my education, my emphasis was on Literature. From 20th century American Literature, to Geoffrey Chaucer, I have read it all. Therefore, I am the perfect candidate to instruct students in this area. I can also be a beneficial asset to students struggling with social science, history, and math.I obviously love to read. I even participate in book trivia competitions with a team that has won many times. I am an avid chess and guitar player. My favorite things to do are to find new ways to solve problems and to share ideas with others. I like to try to understand the mindset of people who are different from me. I am fascinated by the world and society. Students will find my personality very agreeable, as I am often regarded as being a friendly and approachable individual.
