Experience
I enjoy teaching the use of English or Spanish. The ability to communicate effectively is important with any field while learning is most efficient when the student is actively engaged. Asking questions and making connections are important in learning. When tutoring, I ask many questions and encourage tutees to work through processes by themselves. I don't just provide answers. In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and minored in Spanish, from Azusa Pacific University. I also have a master's degree in English Literature from Loyal University Chicago where I'm now working on my PhD. In the past, I volunteered as a reading tutor at a local library and taught ESL to adults in downtown Los Angeles. In addition, I tutored at Loyola's Writing Center and taught literature and writing there too. I've studied Spanish for 7 years and in the Dominican Republic in 2005, and also held a journalism internship in Chile.I enjoy competitive swimming, doing triathlons, cooking, and reading celebrity gossip blogs in my free time.
