Private tutor in Chicago, IL

Education

2011: BA in English from University of Wisconsin-Madison. 4.00 GPA, Honors in the Major. Currently pursuing a Master's in English Education from University of Illinois at Chicago.

Experience

I spent the 2013-2014 academic year as a reading tutor with a GED program, and I plan to return in the fall. I worked with adults to improve their reading and writing and prepare for the GED exam. My students ranged in reading levels from preliterate to early high school. I was also a volunteer tutor for two years and a paid private tutor for a year. I am currently pursuing a degree in Education, and have studied the teaching of reading and writing as well as educational psychology. I want to be a tutor because I believe that with the right guidance and resources, any student can succeed, and I want to help if I can. Since University Tutor is asking for test scores, mine are as follows: SAT 2320; ACT 35; GRE 167 verbal, 159 quantitative, 5.0 writing; I've also taken seven AP exams and received six 5s and one 4.
