EducationJunior -- Mathematics and Philosophy major at Vanderbilt University, minoring in Biology and Financial Economics
ExperienceI have been a private SAT, history, English, math (all levels, including high school and introductory college level), philosophy, business, psychology, world history, and religious studies tutor since this past summer. In high school, I tutored on a weekly basis through our National Honor Society in French, math, chemistry, and biology. Throughout middle school and high school, I volunteered at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, in which I explained scientific concepts to visitors. I also led a calligraphy summer camp at the Rosewood Arts Centre during the summer before junior year.
Currently, I just finished up 2+ years of genetics research and have been working on mathematical research with my professors, including a mathematical research paper I have presented at a national math conference earlier this year.

Classes Taken: At the college level, I've taken Biology, Multivariable Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Linear Algebra, Biostatistics, Differential Equations, Mathematical Statistics, and Economics, as well as various philosophy and humanities courses. I am currently taking Topology, Probability, Formal Logic, Accounting, and two philosophy courses.
Other Qualifications: I am a Cornelius Vanderbilt full tuition honors scholarship recipient, as well as an Honors student in the College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt. In high school, I was a National Merit Finalist, graduated valedictorian, and won numerous piano competitions.
HobbiesI love teaching and tutoring, especially explaining how things work to my students! I taught private piano lessons for three years (my students were ages 5, 7, and 9--they were so adorable!), dance class for two years (my dancers were the absolute cutest!), as well as tutored my peers all throughout high school.
As for my interests in school...while I'm not busy doing schoolwork, I unwind by baking pastries and cooking for other broke college students! I am also an avid tennis player on the club team, the general body meeting planner for the Asian-American Student Association, a dance choreographer, an MC for our large spring performance, and I have been doing research in the field of yeast genetics since my freshman year of college and mathematics research since spring of 2014.
I am very much a "people" person, and would love to get to know your student and help him or her out!
