ExperienceI have taught middle and high school for the past 3 years and tutored for much longer. I currently teach at a school with a particular focus on achieving growth between the 9th grade EXPLORE and the junior year ACT. The greatest joy in teaching is watching the light bulb come on when -- through patience, practice, and reteaching-- a student gets it. Tutoring provides many opportunities for these moments.
According to Lexile measures (the most common and accepted measure of reading ability), the reading ability of my students increased an average of 3.5 times more than the average American student in the 2012-2013 school year.
As a reading, writing, and social studies teacher in Phoenix, AZ, my students achieved more growth on standardized test scores than any other class on record.
HobbiesI love athletics. I coach basketball and boxing. I'll likely ride my bike to our tutoring sessions. I always feel like I'm behind in reading, so I keep my nose in a book on my down time. Otherwise, I like to get out to comedy and blues shows and enjoy the city of Chicago.

Awesome! I credit Keith for helping me go from a C+ student to an A student before the end of the first semester of my senior year. He tutored me in Language Arts and helped me write my personal statement. I'm starting my freshman year at Grinnell College in the spring semester and wouldn't be here without Keith!
Keith was very professional and patient with my son, Michael, who struggled in reading and English. We used him as a tutor for 10 weeks over the summer before the start of freshman year, and each day, Keith came prepared with materials to target my son's needs. He built a relationship and clearly made learning rewarding because now, Michael wants to have tutoring sessions throughout the school year. I am very pleased.
