EducationBachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2012 with college honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
My name is Andy, and I may be the ideal math and science tutor for you!
I recently graduated in May of 2012 from the University of Illinois at Chicago with college honors. I graduated with a degree in biological sciences and finished in the top 15% of a graduating class that consisted of over 1000 students. As a biological sciences major I became proficient in math and science courses like pre-calculus, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry, general chemistry, ecology, biochemistry, and microbiology. I have much experience in preparing for standardized exams and can help you prepare them also. For instance, on the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) I scored in the top 5% of students for general chem, top 10% for organic chem, and top 15% of students for the math.
Though I'm still relatively new to University tutors, I have previously spent time tutoring high school students in algebra 1, algebra 2, and geometry. However, I am can also tutor in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology as well. My specialty is one-on-one subject tutoring, but I can also work with small groups of students. If you're in doubt as to whether I teach a certain subject, just ask!
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and being able to help you improve your scores!
HobbiesSome hobbies and interests that I have are learning new concepts in math and science and teaching math and science to others. I also enjoy running and playing basketball in my free time.
