Experience
I have studied Classics for over seven years. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I also have experience tutoring individual students. I love Latin and Ancient Greek, and I love sharing my passion of my languages even more! The field of Classics is so often treated as dead, and if not, as something only for elites. That just isn't true! I am passionate about bringing Latin and Greek to life and showing my students how these two languages are vibrant, alive and fun. It is my goal as a teacher to make my field accessible to all ages. I take a grammar based approach to language study. I also strongly believe in having an oral component to the study of Latin. By speaking and listening to Latin, the student uses all their cognitive abilities to master the language instead of just reading and writing. By working with the language in these four ways, the student is able to more fully comprehend Latin. I am trained to teach all levels of Latin and I have a variety of teaching experience. I have special training in teaching intensive Latin courses. If you are a high school senior looking for help to pass your AP Latin exam, or a college student looking for extra help on your Greek homework, or a parent interested in looking for a private Latin instructor for your fourth-grader, or just someone looking to pick up a new language, I look forward to getting to know you and helping you discover the ancient world!
