Education

Cornell University, BS in Engineering Physics, Class of 2007 Northwestern University, PhD Candidate in Electrical Engineering

Experience

Over the last 10-15 years, I have privately tutored several dozens of students, helping them get A's in their toughest classes and achieve high scores on standardized tests. The subjects I've privately tutored have ranged from middle school algebra, to SAT math, to AP statistics, to calculus-based electromagnetism and quantum mechanics. Additionally while an undergraduate at Cornell, I worked in the physics department's walk-in tutoring center, where I helped countless pre-meds and underclassman engineers work through their most difficult homework problems. As a graduate student at Northwestern, I have been a TA for the introductory circuit-building lab, for which I received the "TA of the Year" award for the 2014-2015 school year. Just as important as having a mastery of a student's course material is having the ability to convey this information effectively to a student. KNOWING calculus isn't the same as TEACHING calculus - indeed the latter is more difficult. My students have told me time and again that I have an exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas in a very simple manner. In high school I got a perfect score on my math SAT I and IIC, SAT II physics, BC calculus exam and AP physics exams, and also got a perfect score on the math GRE. In addition, I was the New York State gold medalist in the "Physics Lab" competition in Science Olympiad.

Hobbies

I enjoy physical activities such as exercising, playing frisbee, softball, volleyball, but I also enjoy reading, watching tv, and just general chilling out. In high school I was on the varsity crew team and varsity bowling team, but was also in science olympiad and math club, and was the captain of our trivia bowl team (though I am not that good at trivia)
