Experience
My name is Chris Cuellar and I'm a first-year Creative Writing MFA at the Art Institute of Chicago. I'm interested in tutoring and looking for some good teaching experience! I'm hoping to continue my education to the Ph.D. level and eventually pursuing a career in teaching, while continuing to focus on my arts practices. A little bit of background: I'm originally from El Paso, Texas, and received my undergraduate degree in English from Stanford University in 2002. I had since been living in sunny Austin, TX and just recently relocated to Chicago to pursue my MFA. I've always kept excellent grades and strong study habits (got a perfect writing score on the SATs, 1420 overall!) and I hope to share my experience with other students. I have lots of experience with all kinds of academic writing, from analytical to creative, and am also currently studying and actively acquiring skills in various computer languages while at the Art Institute. Computer literacy is a valuable asset in today's technologically-mediated society and I am very interested in coaching students on any necessary computer skills, from using word processing software to more complex programming or web interfaces.

Hobbies
My primary hobby, other than creative writing, is music. I am mostly self-taught, but have taken some intensive classes in music theory and studio production while an undergrad. Other than that, I enjoy reading and studying all things arts related.
